Geografia

Il fiume nasce in Austria, pochi chilometri a est della città di mwgaBruck an der Mur, quindi scorre attraverso le regioni austriache della mwgqStiria e del mwggBurgenland e le province ungheresi di mwgwVas e mwhaGyőr-Moson-Sopron. Confluisce in un ramo laterale del Danubio (il mwhqDanubio di Moson o mwhgMosoni-Duna) nella città di mwhwGyőr.

Gli affluenti principali del Raab sono:

• Lafnitz
• Pinka
• mwjwGyöngyös (in tedesco Güns).

Storia

Nella pianura del fiume Raab mwkgRaimondo Montecuccoli sconfisse i Turchi durante la mwkwGuerra austro-turca (1663-1664), in una battaglia conosciuta anche con il nome di mwlaBattaglia del Raab

Altra battaglia storica mwmgfu quella che il 14 giugno 1809 oppose le forze italo-francesi e quelle austriache nel corso delle mwmwguerre napoleoniche.
